Therapy for men who live in their heads.

I work well with guys who are thoughtful, reflective, and good problem-solvers, but whose minds can also make life harder than it needs to be.
A lot of the men I see are anxious, uncertain, confused, or just trying to make sense of where they are in life. Some have started to feel disconnected, apathetic, or more irritable than usual.
A lot of the time, this stuff has been building for a while. By the time we find our way to each other, they’ve usually been dealing with it for quite some time.
Most of them have a hard time putting their finger on exactly what’s wrong. They’ll often say, “I just don’t feel like myself anymore.”
My approach
I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other modalities when they’re needed. That often means slowing down, paying closer attention to the stories you’re telling yourself, and basing your next action on your values instead of just impulse or habit.
By the end of our work together, I want you to understand yourself better, have more acceptance for how you operate, and learn how to navigate life more effectively.
I want you to feel more connected to what you do and who you share your life with, make decisions with more clarity, and feel good about the life you’re living.
Who I work best with
- Professionals dealing with stress, burnout, and the demands of life
- High school and college-aged guys who are thoughtful, inward, and trying to make sense of themselves
- Guys in their 20s and 30s trying to figure out what they want their life to look like
- Guys in their 50s, 60s, and 70s reflecting on how their life has gone so far and what they want the next chapter to look like
- Guys who feel like they’ve lost their way a bit
The clinical part, and the rest
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s in Couples and Family Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. I work with anxiety, depression, emotional disconnection, and related concerns.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years in California working trail maintenance, supporting nonprofits, and spending a lot of time hiking and camping.
Outside of sessions, I’m happiest outdoors hiking or camping. I follow Liverpool, the Steelers, and UVA athletics, and I have a soft spot for folk music that reminds me of growing up in the Shenandoah Valley.
